School Readiness refers to a child's preparedness for the school environment, encompassing a range of skills that help them adjust and excel. These skills include social interaction, self-care, and basic academic foundations. How Will Nursery Help Your Child?
During the summer term before your child transitions to school, we focus on school readiness by incorporating activities and routines that mirror the school environment. Here are some ways we prepare your child:
Developing Dressing Skills
We encouraging children to practice putting on and taking off coats, shoes, and socks during daily routines and activities.
Meal Time Skills
Children practice self-service skills, using a knife and fork, and are encouraged to make independent choices during mealtimes.
Social Skills
Encouraging interactions with peers to build strong social foundations.
School Visits
Collaborating with local schools to arrange visits from class teachers, allowing children to become familiar with their new teachers and environment.
