Luna Loud Roar-2

Luna’s Loud Roar: Story Information

Luna's Loud Roar is a thoughtful story about a young lioness who loves to roar, just like her mighty family. But when her loud voice starts scaring her friends, Luna learns that strength isn’t just about being loud—it’s also about knowing when to be gentle.

The hidden message in the story is about understanding the impact of our actions and learning to use our strengths wisely. As Luna discovers that there’s a time to be loud and a time to be quiet, children are reminded that kindness and thoughtfulness are just as powerful as bravery. It’s a wonderful way to encourage empathy and self-awareness in young readers.

Luna’s Loud Roar

Luna the lioness came from a family of mighty lions. Her father, Leo, had the loudest roar in the savanna, and her mother, Lila, was the wisest lion in all the savanna. Every evening, the family would gather on top of the hill and let out deep, powerful roars that echoed through the plains.

Luna loved practising her own roar every chance she got. She loved how strong it made her feel, just like her parents. She was proud to come from such a mighty family and wanted to be just like them.

Luna’s best friends were Ellie the elephant, Rico the rhino, and Zara the zebra.

Ellie, a large and gentle elephant, was known for her calm strength and her big, flapping ears that made her an excellent listener.

Rico, a confident and sturdy rhino, was always ready to charge around, his tough horn leading the way.

Zara, the fast and graceful zebra, could run like the wind, her black-and-white stripes zigzagging between the trees as she sped through the savanna.

Together, they loved playing games and exploring the wide savanna, enjoying the sunny days and grassy fields.

One sunny day, they decided to play hide-and-seek, and Luna was the seeker.

Excited, she closed her eyes and began counting down.

"Ten, nine, eight..." Luna’s tail swished as her friends scattered to find hiding spots.

When she reached zero, Luna opened her eyes and began searching.

It didn’t take long before she spotted Zara’s black-and-white stripes poking out from behind a bush. Feeling a surge of excitement, Luna let out a loud roar, "ROOOAARRR!"

Zara, the zebra, jumped in fear, her legs wobbling as she dashed out from behind the bush.

"Luna! You scared me!" Zara exclaimed, shaking as she tried to calm down.

Luna laughed. "It’s just my roar! I always roar when I find someone. It’s part of the fun!"

But Zara didn’t think it was fun at all. Her heart was still racing as she walked away; she didn’t want to play anymore—not if it meant getting scared every time.

Luna was confused, but hurried away to find the others

Next, Luna found Rico the rhino hiding behind a large rock. She roared again, even louder this time. "ROOOAARRR!"

Rico stumbled in surprise, tripping over his feet and landing in the mud.

"Luna, that was too loud! I nearly hurt myself!" Rico shouted, clearly upset as he wiped mud off his horn.

Luna giggled, still full of excitement. "Come on, Rico, it’s just a game! I didn’t mean to scare you."

But Rico frowned. "It’s not fun when you scare us like that, Luna."

Luna shrugged and continued searching for her final friend

Finally, she spotted Ellie hiding behind a tall tree. Her big ears and long trunk were sticking out from both sides, making her easy to find.

Luna grinned and let out another powerful roar, "ROOOAARRR!"

Ellie jumped in fear, her ears flapping wildly. "Luna! That was way too loud!" she exclaimed, startled.

But this time, Ellie didn’t just look frightened—she started to cry. Tears streamed down her cheeks as her trunk trembled.

Seeing their friend in distress, Zara and Rico quickly rushed over. Zara gently nuzzled Ellie, and Rico stood beside her, offering quiet support. They surrounded her, doing their best to comfort her as she cried.

Luna blinked in confusion. "It’s just my roar! I didn’t mean to upset anyone," she said softly.

Ellie sniffled, wiping her eyes. "We know you love roaring, Luna, but it’s too much. You don’t have to roar every time you find us."

Zara and Rico nodded. "It’s not fun when we’re getting scared all the time," Zara added.

Luna’s excitement faded as she realised that her roaring was scaring her friends. She hadn’t meant to hurt their feelings.

"I… I didn’t mean to spoil the game," Luna said quietly, her tail drooping.

Ellie nodded gently, her tears starting to dry. "We love playing with you, Luna, but maybe save your roar for when it’s really needed, like if we’re in danger."

Luna nodded, feeling sad. She had never meant to upset her friends, but now she didn’t know how to fix it.

The next morning, Luna wandered the savanna, thinking about what her friends had said. As she walked, she noticed a group of meerkats struggling to carry sticks for their burrow. For a moment, Luna felt the urge to roar, but then she remembered what Ellie had told her about being gentle.

Instead, she took a deep breath, approached slowly, and used a soft voice.

"Can I help?" Luna asked gently.

The meerkats smiled and nodded gratefully, happy to have Luna’s help. Luna felt proud not because of her loud roar, but because she was being helpful and thoughtful in a quieter way.

Later that day, Luna rejoined her friends to play hide-and-seek again. This time, she found them quietly, without roaring, and everyone had a much better time. They laughed and played, and Luna realised that being gentle wasn’t so bad after all.

But just as the sun began to set, a rumbling noise echoed across the savanna. A herd of wildebeest was stampeding toward them!

Luna knew this was the moment her big roar was truly needed.

She ran to the front of her friends, took a deep breath, and let out her loudest roar ever. "ROOOAARRR!"

The sound echoed across the savanna, stopping the wildebeest in their tracks. The stampede turned away, and the savanna grew calm once again.

"Wow, Luna! That roar was perfect!" Zara said, smiling.

Luna grinned, realising that there was a time for everything, sometimes her loud roar was helpful, and other times, being gentle worked better.

As the sun began to set, Luna sat with her friends, reflecting on the day.

"I learned something today," Luna said. "My loud roar is great, but it’s also important to know when to be gentle. Sometimes, a soft voice is all you need."

Ellie nodded. "Exactly! And today, you used both at the perfect times."

Luna smiled, feeling proud of herself. From that day on, Luna knew when to roar and when to be quiet. She felt stronger than ever, knowing that balance made her even mightier.
