The EYA Derby

My name is Emma and I’m NVQ level 3 qualified and work in our preschool room in Derby. 
I have over 25 years experience in childcare and education and have found coming to EYA refreshing and welcoming !  I really like the ethos of the nurseries and the homely , cosy family atmosphere. 
Not only is “belonging”at the forefront for the children ,but the staff too. Wellbeing for all is a very big factor here and I certainly feel that from the support of our strong management team.  This has led me to feel I “belong “ too from my very first day .  I enjoy our “being in the moment” approach to learning and working from the children’s sparks and ideas and extending on these.  Our hygge areas are wonderful environments for everyone and the children thrive on the owe and wonder these create. One of my favourite parts of my role is building relationships with parents, alongside the children . Building strong connections and seeing parents relaxed and supported when  leaving their children in our care is extremely rewarding.

Joining the Early Years Academy as an Area Manager has been one of the most fulfilling steps in my professional

My name is Chloe & here at EYA Derby I fulfil the role of the Assistant Manager, providing leadership to the setting & ensuring we are doing our very best, each and every day. I have worked within this nursery now for nearly 10 years, and have spent many of those years room based, caring directly for hundreds of children through the years. My favourite part of my role is the job satisfaction I get from making people happy, whether that be the children, their families or the staff that work tirelessly each day. Knowing people are happy with the support they have, the care they receive, and the opportunities we provide, is a wonderful feeling & one that keeps you going again & again.
