Benny the Bunny’s Healthy Diet

Benny was a young, white bunny with a twitchy nose and big, curious eyes. He lived in a cosy burrow with his family, where he spent his days hopping around, exploring, and—most of all—snacking. His best friends were Freddy the fox, Sammy the squirrel, and Penny the parrot. They loved playing together in the meadow, and Benny couldn’t wait to join in their fun every day.

Freddy was a sly fox, always darting through the tall grass. Sammy the squirrel was small but speedy, leaping from tree to tree without missing a beat. Penny the parrot loved to swoop high in the sky, calling out playful challenges from above. Benny tried his best to keep up, but lately, he was feeling too tired.

Benny loved sweets—cookies, candy, and crisps were his favourites, and he would munch on them all day long.

But there was one problem—Benny was always tired.

One sunny afternoon, Benny and his friends gathered in the meadow to play tag. Freddy, Sammy, and Penny were buzzing with energy, ready to play. Benny wanted to join in but felt sluggish.

“Come on, Benny!” Freddy called, tail swishing. “You’re it first!”

Benny smiled and hopped as fast as he could, but his legs felt heavy, and his energy quickly faded. Freddy darted through the grass, Sammy zigzagged between trees, and Penny soared overhead. Benny huffed and puffed, feeling tired.

“I just need a quick rest,” Benny said, flopping under a shady tree. He wanted to keep going, but all he could do was yawn.

Freddy jogged over. "Why are you tired already? We just started!"

"I don’t know," Benny sighed. "I love playing, but I get tired so fast."

"Maybe it’s all the sweets you eat," Sammy said. "Sweets taste good but don’t give you real strength."

Benny wrinkled his nose. "But I love cookies and candy! What else should I eat?"

"Fruits and vegetables!" chirped Penny, perched nearby. "They’re full of energy and help you play all day!"

Benny wasn’t sure at first, but he was tired of being left out. Maybe it was time to try something new.

The next morning, Benny hopped out of his burrow, determined to give healthy eating a try.

Penny fluttered down. "Ready to try something new, Benny?"

Benny nodded. "What should I try first?"

Penny pointed her wing toward an apple tree. "Start with an apple! It’s sweet like candy but will give you more energy."

Benny hopped over to the tree, plucked a shiny apple, and took a bite. His eyes lit up. "Wow! It’s juicy and sweet, but better!"

Feeling a bit more energetic, Benny decided to try something else. He saw Max the mouse pulling up fresh carrots.

"Want to try a carrot?" Max asked, holding one up.

Benny nibbled on the carrot. "Crunchy and fresh! I like this!" He was already feeling stronger.

As the day went on, Benny tried all sorts of fruits and vegetables—plump blueberries, crispy cucumbers, and juicy strawberries. With each new food, Benny felt his energy growing, and soon he was bouncing around the meadow like never before.

By the afternoon, Benny had so much energy that he was racing Freddy, hopping high with Sammy, and even playing chase with Penny. He couldn’t believe how strong he felt.

At the end of the day, Benny sat with his friends, smiling. "Guess what? I tried so many new fruits and veggies today, and now I feel amazing! I can play all day without getting tired!"

Freddy grinned. "I knew you could do it, Benny! Healthy foods make all the difference."

Benny nodded. "I still love my cookies, but now I know fruits and veggies make me feel strong and ready for fun."

From that day on, Benny enjoyed sweets now and then, but made sure to fill his meals with healthy fruits and vegetables. He loved how they made him feel—full of energy and ready for new adventures with his friends.

Benny discovered that trying new foods wasn’t so bad after all. In fact, it was fun!
