Benny the Badger Brushes His Teeth
Benny the badger lived in a cosy burrow with his mum, dad, and little sister, Bella. He loved playing in the woods, digging for worms, and snacking on berries. But there was one thing Benny didn’t love...
Brushing his teeth.
Every morning and every night, Mummy Badger would call,
“Benny! Time to brush your teeth!”
Benny would groan.
“But I brushed them yesterday!”
“But it takes sooo long!”
“But they’re badger teeth! Do they even need brushing?”
One morning, Benny woke up with a funny feeling. His mouth felt fuzzy. His teeth felt sticky. And when he tried to nibble his favourite berry, he squeaked,
“Ouch!”
Mummy took one look. “We’re going to the forest dentist.”
Benny’s ears drooped. The forest dentist? That sounded very serious.
At the forest clearing, Mr Owl greeted them with a kind smile and a sparkly beak. “Hello Benny, hop up on the tree stump.”
He gently checked Benny’s teeth and nodded. “Hmm. Just a bit of plaque and a teeny tiny sugar hole starting. It’s nothing we can’t fix. But Benny... your teeth need brushing every day.”
“Even badger teeth?” Benny asked.
“Especially badger teeth!” Mr Owl chuckled. “You chew roots, bugs, and berries. That’s a lot of brushing work!”
Then he showed Benny a special trick.
“Use a song while you brush. Like this!”
And he hooted a little tune:
🎵 Brush up high and brush down low,
Front and back and off we go! 🎵
Benny giggled. “That’s not bad...”
That night, Benny stood at the burrow sink with Bella. He held his toothbrush high.
“Let’s brush like Mr Owl!”
And together, they sang and brushed until their teeth were shiny and clean.
From that day on, Benny never moaned about brushing again.
