More Than a Meal: How Our New Menu Supports Learning and Wellbeing

EYA New Menu-2

A Taste of the Season: Our New Autumn-Winter Menu Has Arrived

As the days draw in and the air turns crisp, we’re embracing the cosy season with a fresh new menu at The Early Years Academy. Created in partnership with Tiny Tums from The Health Kick, our updated Autumn-Winter menu brings together warming flavours, comforting textures, and plenty of nutrients to keep little tummies happy and minds ready to learn.

Food That Fuels More Than Just Play

Mealtimes at The Early Years Academy are about so much more than simply feeding hungry bellies. Every dish has been crafted to support children’s development – physically, emotionally, and cognitively.

From Salmon en Croûte with root veg mash to a delightful Apple & Carrot Sponge Pudding, each meal is designed to:

  • Support brain development with omega-3s and quality proteins

  • Boost immune systems through vitamins A and C

  • Strengthen bones with calcium and vitamin K

  • Encourage gut health with fibre and friendly bacteria

All while being free from added sugar, unnecessary salt, and ultra-processed ingredients, giving you complete peace of mind as a parent.

Helping Children Feel Calm, Cared For, and Connected

We know the darker months can sometimes affect children's sleep, mood, and energy levels. That’s why our new seasonal menu also aims to bring a little extra comfort to their day.

With vitamin-rich vegetables, hearty soups, and familiar, warming flavours, our meals offer more than nutrition, they provide a sense of stability, joy, and routine. And we believe that's just as important as any learning experience.

Learning Through Food: Meet Gus the Guts!

One of the things we’re most excited about this season is our collaboration with Gus the Guts, our cheerful health hero. Through fun, child-friendly stories and visuals, children begin to understand how looking after their tummies can help them feel well, energetic, and ready to take on the day.

This kind of learning forms part of our wider approach at The Early Years Academy, encouraging curiosity, confidence, and making healthy choices feel fun, not forced.

Seasonal Celebrations: The Pumpkin Patch Picnic

To top it all off, we’ve introduced something a little extra special, the Pumpkin Patch Picnic. This themed tea brings learning and play together through:

  • Seasonal recipes

  • Songs and stories

  • Sensory-based experiences

If you’d like to recreate the fun at home, ask your child’s key person for a Pumpkin Patch Picnic Pack. It’s full of activities, recipes, and ideas for extending the experience into your own kitchen.

Nurturing From the Inside Out

We know how important it is for you to feel confident about what your child eats while they’re with us. That’s why we work closely with nutritional experts, our on-site chefs, and our team to ensure every meal is as thoughtful as it is tasty.

Whether your child is just starting their food journey or is a confident little eater, our Autumn-Winter menu supports their growth, wellbeing, and love for good food, all while staying true to our child-led, nurturing ethos.

Here’s to warm tummies, happy hearts, and a season full of nourishment.
